Kinkos is horrible!!! I went there this morning and had to wait 40 minutes for my photos and when they came back they had a greenish tint and the colors were all washed out. They looked like a two year old photoshoped them :D Clearly they would have been rejected by immigration so I asked for my money back.
I then went to Sears and they did a great job. They have professional studio equipment and all it took was 5 minutes and I had all my copies looking great like they're supposed to.
So... Sears, highly recommended. They charged me $61 for two sets of 8 photos for me and my wife which is the same price as Kinkos or CVS & Walgreens, less the horrible amateurish quality.
I took the first set of photos in Walgreens, but the background was not clean although plain white.. they was a very light spot in center of the photo, although not obvious, when asked I was told thatz how the background screen is and all photos they take are the same and they showed me few samples. Nice story :) I had a clause in my first contract that I had to work for a company at least for 6 months or I will have to reimburse all H1B-related expenses. Well, I left the company and when the company's president called me, just told him to get lost. Never heard from him again. Looking back, I should've sued the company because it did not pay me full salary for the first month while I was on the "bench" (searching for a contract). Well, I am just too lazy :)

We have been calling and talking to ppl all over new england area.
But we have hardly been able to get a convincing number of ppl to attend the rally.
Have you watched the bus thread for New England Area. 26 votes, can you believe that.
We definitely need to get more innovative. I dont know what ppl want, so they can be motivated.
Sometimes i think being educated is a curse, as ppl become more scared and are fine adapting to the system.
Look at the ILLEGALS at least they came out openly. They dared to come forward and i am sure they will be rewarded sooner.
LEGAL ppl who have nothing to fear are then also they are more scared to do anything. So this is the right time for me to express my opinion LEGALS ARE FOOLS.

The employer does not seem to be clean. Please don't set yourself up for stress and abuse
Hi,
I am planning to accept an offer from a company that will also sponsor my H1. All the terms & conditions look fine to me and their seems to be no bond.
However, the offer letter has a clause that is a bit strange and raised some doubts in my mind. Experienced people please comment and let me know if it has a risky hidden meaning. Please note I am not going to take any trainings and would start to work immediately with one of their clients. The clause goes like this.
"Employee acknowledges that the Company may invest significant sums to train and educate Employee and the Company�s investment in Employee would be jeopardized if Employee were to leave the company�s employment prior to the Company�s receipt of the benefits of such training and education. Employee hereby agrees to refund to the Company all amounts expended by the Company in the immediately preceding 12 months for education or training of the Employee if Employee resigns from the employment with the Company or is terminated by the Company for gross neglect of duty, material breach of the Letter or this Agreement or conviction or plea of guilty or no contests to a felony. Do not care about the money now. Give 5k and file thro company. If you need any help from company for RFE or any other issue after filing gc then company will help for you. Because you are working for hourly paying 2 or 3k more than normal should be ok. Some of lawyers are charging more compared to normal

You have some very valid points about community (non)participation in your post.
I understand your point about having another rally. Make no mistake - IV core has no problems with planning and conducting another rally. So it's not a big issue to get them to agree. I can push IV core, and get another rally. Bigger issue is how many are going to turn up? If it's just 100-200 of us same-old folks, there is no point.
Last year when we were bouyed by the success of July VB reversal, it was estimated that at least 10,000 would turn up. But, only 2000 did. I don't know how many will, if we hold another few months from now?
IV can sponsor more ACTION (items). But what's point, if there is not enough participation? First step is the community needs to step up and make existing action items such as FOIA requests for backlog numbers, AC21 action items successful. This will motivate IV to launch more action items. No organization would want to be seen running too many campaigns with liitle or no community participation.
We need the IV core team and the administrator to guide some big rally's. Guys nothing will happen until we are bold about our intentions.
I noticed everyone comes up with their different ideas, but no one works to implement it. We need to stand together and do something big, when was the last time we had a big rally?

At the end, if someone says that the crux of your conclusions are wrong, for an emotional person, it would be tough to take. A rational person would take it lightly and think before responding. In your immediate previous reply, you just cherry picked a quote from my previous reply and put that as my interpretation. Please do not put words into my mouth. My reply has been pasted below in its entirety.

So, if there are some potential unused visas in Family category they can add it to Employment category and vice versa. This will all work in the same year. In your initial argument, you said, because all the family visas for 2008 are completely used, we won't get anything from that category as spill over during this year (2009).

There were times when I was really depressed, specially when I got delayed in New Delhi with "Name clearance" for H-1 renew. However, I believed in higher power and never lost hope. My parents (mother US citizen,father GC) always kept my spirits high. I also got a lot of support at my job (when I got stuck in India, my chief pulled all strings possible to get me cleared).
I also had a backup plan, where I could go to Canada or worst, can go back to India where I have an established practice.
Botomline, do not loose hope and work hard.

My EB2 was rejected initially but later approved due to Sheila's evalaution of my CA degree equivalent to master's degree. I did not know her but my lawyer insisted to get it done through her. She was good for me.
