I know many people working here in my city who are from TCS. TCS blatantly breaks rules and sends these people on L1 visas while paying them an Indian salary and a minimal per diem for their time in the U.S. They don't even get enough for renting a car and I see many of these poor guys walking from their apartment blocks to the office. It's good exercise (for one's physical health) but the intent of the company is exploitation and nothing else :mad:
In addition, I notice that many of these recruits are here not for long term jobs but for gaining enough knowledge so that those jobs can be outsourced back to the home country. That has started to make many of my American colleagues really mad. But it's the fault of the company, not these poor guys who don't have seem to have a clue what a bad deal it is until they arrive here.
Sad to say, Wipro, Infosys and the rest in their flock are no better.

They are responsible creating this whole H1B mess, they keep bringing people in "dirt cheap" rate when economy is bad and people here are laidoff for "cost-cutting". I've this experience during 2001-2002 when some of these Indian companies were paying $15-20. Can you imagine?? But they are not alone in this game! Their clients like - GE, Merrill, Morgan etc. all goto them for cheap labor and promote this. They squeze as far as possible in terms of rate. Also part of their savings must be going to guys supposed to monitor the law. It is a big ecosystem where no one is "blind". All enjoy their share for sometime and suddenly wake-up one day when their "profit-sharing" calculations go wrong!!
I've seen so many TCS workers with L1 are consuming jobs which otherwise be done by either US workers or people from other part of the world came here with proper H1 and HOPE to succeed and make it big here!! They come here because they were needed by BIG US companies to get "cheap labor" and deceive their "GREAT" country.

And passer by drivers at Higher Speed than you. Can you point police for stopping you.
So don't tell that you are fine and everybody is fine.
What if someone here saw your postings (800+ posting guru) and travels wihtout Transit Visa and Aitport people ask for Transit Visa and missed flight--- Have to stay at Airport for hours.
Try to accept rules guys....

This may not be true. This is the problem being faced by many singles. Ofcourse those singles are postponing their plans just because of USCIS policies which in the case of singles is ridiculous. There is no meaning to make a person wait for 5-10 years to get one's spouse just because he applied for a Green Card. I see various kinds of visas for the spouses in other categories like H1 has H4
L1 has L2/L4 ( I dont know what that is)
and so on so forth..
but for a spouse of AOS? nothing.
All the crap of going on H1 are ridiculous. At the first place one has to get a sponsor for H1 and then there are all those issues out of being H1 with the employer and USCIS. There is no benefit of being on AOS. They cannot use EAD. They cannot start companies freely, etc because they are supposed to be on H1 or L1 etc.
Even then the title is misplaced; USCIS does not make laws.

Today I got a call from an officer in "immigration and customs enforcement" asking for an appointment to visit my residence for checing my immigration status.
I am on H1B visa.
I would appreciate if someone could give any sort of information related to calling for a home visit.

You might want to call back his office and verify his status. He may have been an ICE employee two months ago. Is he still an employee there?

there are no elections scheduled this year or late into next year.
To link unemployment with illegal immigration is a far stretch...
a.) what is the proof that illegals here are not already employed?
b.) Do illegals and citizens/legals compete for the same job? --> probably Not
It only means these faceless humans will get some rights and protection...
illegal immigration is one of the main source of flesh trade from eastern europe and latin america....
BUT the socio-economic impact this will have on US as a whole is a whole new topic...
If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. Moreover voters demographics has changed since last election. Electorate is comprised of higher percentage of forward thinking younger generation.
IMO anti-immigrant racist voter percentage will be on decline in coming years. So democrats/gop is better off catering to the likes of this younger generation.

I was also looking here and there after rally no one handed me my green card :D
Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............

My neighbor was asked to how many years he worked with the company who sponsored his green card. He mentioned he had worked for two years. This was when he was applying for citizenship.
Although there is no mention in law for a specific duration. As Pappu said, its a lawyer's interpretation. I have yet to see USCIS's interpretation, especially what is the criteria followed in the naturalization interview.

My husband did his PMP Certification on his own.. he used a couple of pmi guides that he bought from amazon.com in addition to the PMBOK book. he worked on this certification for 3 to 4 months and passed it. It is possible. It is quite useful according to him if you want to lead teams. No need to spend money on this training.

your id rightly tells your attitude...we are talking about USCIS delays and you are talking about something else...Join twitter to tweet nonsense, but don't kill a valid topic here.If you are replaceable then you have false claimed in your application that no American is available for your job. It defeats your H1B and Green card application. America invites H1Bs and gives them greencards not because they are paying taxes but because employers prove no american is available for our job and we have unique skills for job. 'Best and Brightest' is we are and USA needs us. Without us the economy will be more bad.
