    In Dallas (Las Collinas), if you dont have medical insurance, you can have an arrangement with the Doctor and Hospital.

    Like one of my friend paid 3K for everything for Delivery + 5K I think for the hospitals. Ofcourse this is based on the delivery is not complicated / C-section couple of years ago.

    You mean to say that "Those who have EAD with PD 2006/2007" needs green Card and you dont bother about PD 2000-2005 from Backlog who never got a chance to apply i-485 ?

    Moral: Allow the people to suffer who are suffering and let others make merry(PD 2006-2007).

    durbin bill will not do enough, will only prevent these h1s to come here. but after durbin bill pass, anyone can send this job. in order to apply for a job in nj one has to through pune, india. they ask new h1b to sign bond contract, and if they leave before 18 months, they will ask to pay the fee. this is bond contract which is illegal in america since long time.

    one thing that most people don’t know - the indentured comes from the bond contract – the guest workers, h1b, will be never be deported, because, under the law, theoretically, they r never suppose to become illegal. the only people who r deportable r illegals.

    thanks for your supportive words for CP filers now CP filers need some relief as they are not able to get an EAD/AC21. I think we could ask to allow CP filers to file 485 with out having dates current and conserdering their CP filing date to get EAD and AC21.

    Just call IRS and they will talk to your employer for your W2. This has happened with me and stupid indian company "Hexaware" shipped it to me overnight past year after I called IRS. Guess what I also got useless call from so called "Big shots" to apologize for the situation and withdraw the complaint.

    Employers cannot hold your W2. If you can prove with paystubs that you could not file tax returns because they refused to provide W2, IRS will get them. I am sure they wouldn't want to get into trouble with uncle sam just because of ego.

    I changed jobs 180 days from filing of 485. My lawyer asked me for the job description of the new job to make sure that it is consistent with the previous job. The titles don't mean anything.

    I myself is interested to get the interim benefits now and not expecting to receive the GC right away. But I can feel the frustration of those who are already in the few last steps.

    After getting the EAD/AP within three months, I don't think our problem is solved already. We will be at certain point in time be in the same situation as the poster above.

    We need to call for unity ask people to come out and support this initiative.
    We got to do somthing. Enough is enough. Think of all high skilled workers not going to work for a day what kind of impact that will have? What kind of awareness that will create? I am ready to give up one day worth of pay for this. Anyone else?

    Efforts have to be collective. Try to get supporrt from coworkers, friends - ask them for a honest opinion and see what they have to say

    What you are saying..about consulting companies not having a "job" at hand to offer is the mis-use of the Visa. This is the loop-hole that cause small time shops to jsut bring a lot of people onsite and then start sending resume arranging interviews etc............................................... ...........

    Don't compare this to bribe. You lack judgment. That is the way consulting business work irrespective of whether it as an Indian owned company or American company.

    Regarding "job at hand", as long as the company is paying wages to the employee from day1, there should not be an issue. H1B laws don't say you have to have an end client to sponsor an H1. Employer needs to pay the employee from day1. That is it. Only outsourcing companies can guarantee an end client.

    Don't site examples of companies that are not following rules to make a point.

    I am sure you were not air-lifted by one of the US companies from India.
    If you are an IIT ian, companies may do that. Not otherwise.

    If you have some issues with consulting companies, that is your personal problem. It has nothing to do with H1.

Who knows he will do same thing to her also?. Munna Bhai read his post and comment. IV is for good cause; not for people with criminal behaviour.

    I think we, in this forum, should get more mature in handling others personnel issues. The reason I was against that "snathan" story was that we are trying to play goody goody for no reason. We are in a country where the divorce rate is the highest..then why don't we open this forum for all of those people..let's play good Samaritan to everyone...

    All this for $3500? Its going to cost him a lot more if he wants to file a lawsuit.

    I don't think anybody will tell you for sure what the court will rule. Even if you pay a lawyer he will not tell you that - not in writing. Chances are that this will not even go to court and based the discussion on this thread its very unlikely if this will hold in any court.

    BTW, how did he come up with the figure 3500? Is that the salary that was paid to you while you were working for another company? As somebody pointed out earlier if this was the money paid to you as compensation when you did not work for him then he might be reasonable in asking you to re-pay.

    Let us know if you any information on what the 3500 figure is for.

    An email does not mean anything. You can just ignore it. Unless you have a certified notice from court you have nothing to worry about.

    My previous employer did not pay any thing additional, he paid for the hours i worked at the client place, this $3500 is for the last few days which he says the vendor is not paying as i did not give notice, so he expects me to reimburse it.

    How can one expect desi employer to pay more, it would be a surprise if such thing happens.
