It is not a sub issue and it is part of the green card process. I lament ( for lack of an apt word) your compariosn of name check to spouses not able to work.
You will realize how big a problem when you reach there.

Believe, I was stuck in labor for 2 years ( due to Bush adminstration's decision to leagalize illegals) and I really thought that labor was the only hurdle. Atleast you could contact USCIS to track your progress. Now I am stuck in security clearance AKA name check. Now I am in totallly in darkness and nowhere to check what is happenning. FBI used to repond to e-mails( 6 months wait period)/phone messages two years ago.Now they have totally stopped it.
There are many like me and it is not just individual cases. Even at the bottom of my heart I feel those who are in labor stage whom you are representing should not have to face it. But the be realistic and I would see 80% of those in current labor would get stuck at this name check process unless some measure are taken by us.
Good luck if you guys think it is a "sub issue"

All packets were kept on hold and we should all be ok because they will start sending receipts soon for all complete packages.

Like I said before, W2 should be good enough. If you get employment letter for that period, that will be better.
Typically LCAs are not needed, unless asked to prove H1-B status for job location and other related issues.

good question - I do not visit the website often. I remembered the website out of the blue only yesterday. After about 1 1/2 year I visited that website yesterday. So it was out of my mind.
Also, I am cannot use internet at work that often and going home I have other stuff to take care, dont get enough time to come to IV as well. I am glad you could do what I should have done long before :).

We sent out a newsletter last night and out of 8400 emails, we have nearly 250 bounced back.
Emails like a@abc.com are obviously bogus emails.
See, I can understand the reason for that, you dont want spam. But we send out newsletter less than 2-3 times a month. And we dont sell information.
So please update your email addresses. So that we can reach you when we send out action alerts like "Call or webfax this or that congressional office".

But unfortunately this is how the USCIS is working and immigration is completely broken. Please iginore these guys and get legal help. May be you can contact Sheela Murthy law firm. Its expensive but no other option. Or post your issues in their web site or Ron gotcher's web site. He might be able to guide you in this.

My Dear IV Members,
I would like to open up my house for IV members during the advocacy days. I live in Herndon, VA about 25 miles from DC. I can accommodate up to 3 or 4 members if they can manage. DC is pretty much commutable from my house using the public transport.
Due to my work situation at present I am not sure if I will be able to participate actively. But I will be trying my best to at least make it for a day.

IEEE believes that ppl educated in the US should not be sent back and should actually stay here. I agree with that stance. After all, they want what is best for ppl born here and those who have been educated here. It is IEEE-USA :)
As far as I know most of the "US educated foreigners"come here just to pursue thier higher education and have no intention of working here. Do they show their immigrant intent while applying for VISA and still get their student VISAs

You are sick of extending your visa/ EAD every year!!!
For those who are on visas, need to extend their visas every year after the first 3 years have passed. Those who are on EAD, need to extend their permits & AP every year!
