I didn�t want to go to DC rally due to my surgery appointment (September 6th) because I can not fly for three weeks after the surgery.
Guess what?, I have postponed my surgery appointment date, booked tickets and going to DC rally on Monday evening and flying back on Tuesday night.
I also urge people to take a day off and attend the rally.
You are the man !!. You are leading by setting an example for others to follow. My prayers and good wishes for your travel and your surgery later on.

Quotas are exactly the reason I cannot go back to India ever...I absolutely hate them....There is already classification under EB category....BTW I have a MS in EE from Auburn University....Best bet for us is lost visa recapture.....

I guess Michael Cannon was right after all. He did not promise any improvements regarding name check situation until 2010... Let's hope the court system will continue to put pressure on the USCIS/FBI.

PMP is a certification and is merely to Project and People Management. MBA is a Graduate Degree and pertains to Business Management. One cannot and should not compare a certification to a Degree.

Just suck it up and go for it. It seems unfair but that is a fact of life. Think about what is 5K in 5-10 years time, once u get GC you and ur wife can get better paid jobs and make up for it.
I guess most of the folks here are busy preparing to apply for 485. I have different problem here.
My employer's attorney is charging me outrageous fees of around $5000 to
apply for 485, AP and EAD for me and my spouse. This excludes USCIS fees. I work on hourly basis, so I should be taking care of immigration fees. My employer is not allowing me to file through another law firm.
Do I have any other options. How much do they charge usually.

That was a very illogical reply to the per-country limit question. How come a large number of people from certain countries automatically eliminate people from smaller countries from getting green cards? That's an extremely dumb way of looking at it.
If you remove the limits, yes most of the cards will go to people from India and China, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE #$@!$ING BACKLOGGED FOR DECADES DUE TO THE LIMITS!!

Go get a good lawyer .File a lawsuit against attorney for breach of contract and ask for minimum 5 to 6 million dollars in damages. see if you can involve the company too. screw their happiness to the largest extent . Expose your employer and file a complaint that he forced you to pay for your labour cert and 140 expenses. DOL will shut him down as they are already investigating these fraud shops.

what the heck happenned. The text has completely changed since I voted. When I voted it clearly stated the unused visas would be recaptured for family based and employment based immigrants. now it only says for family based immigrants. Have we (employment based) been shafted, is visa recapture for us Eb immigrants or not?

my experience with california DMV - renewed via mail. Paid 28$, got a new plastic card which is valid for next 5 years.

Ask your law firm why they are charging you so much. Below are the rates charged by my lawyer and should not be too different from what most of the others charge. If the lawyer doesn't answer, then show these numbers to your employer and lodge a strong protest with them.
Adjustment of Status
Principal applicant $1,000
Dependent applicant $500
Work Authorization Cards (each) $200
Advance Parole Travel Documents(each)$200
If you are working on an hourly basis, does your employer pay you when you're on the bench? If he doesn't, keep record of that and once you get your GC sue him over back wages and complain to DOL. These people don't deserve any thing better.
