Brush up your General Knowledge, look around you. If you see, there is a priority date on my post - Infy does not sponspor GC's, atleast not with those priority dates in EB2 category. Can you deduce what that implies?
You are thinking only about the small percentage of "lost Indians" (including me) who are in this mess - if you really think about your motherland (and mine), help guys like NRN get a good infrastructure in place. By ridiculing him, what are you trying to say? had you been in his place, what would you have done? Settle here immediately, and launch a daily "freighter" to bring all Indians to US? They've already said to give them until Aug 1st for June filers. Then they will focus on July filers. Simple as that. If your checks aren't cashed by Aug 1/2 for a June filer, then perhaps you have reason to call. If your checks are cashed, then YOU'RE IN, no need to call. Whatever you need is in the mail. If you don't get it by frst week of august, then call.

more recently, they took 2 days (not even working days) to APPROVE 25000 AOS applications, how hard do you think it is for them to issue receipts ? :)

Looks like it took it a bit to propagate across USCIS servers. Or else, they put it up and took it down, then put up again.
With the EAD at Nebraska officially being at 112 days (zero movement since June 18 processing times release), it is no surprise they don't respond to expedited/interim EAD requests anymore when it goes over 90 days. Will we have to file mandamus suits on EAD soon?

I do have very different experience. I never had any issues with the indian consulate. couple of months back I have sent the papers for my daughter's PIO card. With in two weeks I got the PIO in mail.
My experience has been very good, too.
I had family emergency and needed visa to travel to India. Entry Visa (they don't issue Tourist Visa to people of Indian origin) was issued in 1 hour. The staff was very helpful.

IMO, the key criterion is "occupational classification" under which the new job falls under, not the technologies used. For example, it is logical to conclude that a Software Engineer position that requires programming in Java is in the same or similar occupational classification as a Software Engineer job that requires programming in .NET.
One could argue that .NET is a different technology than Java, but most if not all would agree they fall under the same/similar occupational classification.
So as long as you can make a strong case that the occupational classification for jobs is the same/similar, I don't think there is a problem.
Then again, I am not a lawyer and all that...
How much does technology come into picture? I changed jobs using AC21 and am on EAD, my new job utilizes only 50% of the skills from previous job and am getting trained in new technologies in the new job. I am not sure if the new employer will list all technologies mentioned in the labor, but will definitely list all those that are being used. Any comments?

You are right that spill over of 23020 visas from family based category contributed to movements in EB2 categories, however that was not the only spill over that happened. There were 12144 unused visas in EB-4 and EB-5 category which also spilled over. You could argue that those visas spill over to EB-1, however EB-1 had usage of 36591 visas last year compared to maximum allocation of 40040 visas which meeans that EB-1 also had 3449 unused visas. This means that there was a spill over of 15593 visas just from EB-4,EB-5 and EB-1 category.
So there will definately be some spill over this year if you assume same usage level as last year. How much? I am not sure yet.

The only thing seems to be happening is that they are transferring cases from NSC/TSC to CSC/VSC for EADs, APs and I-485s for data entry and EAD/AP approval.
CSC seems to be doing a great job at that (received EADs and APs in exactly 60 days). Once these are issues and the I-485 data is fed in, the I-485 jurisdiction is passed back to NSC/TSC (wherever your I-485 originated from).
I am still waiting on my I-140 approval (filed in March 2007)...hoping to get it by around end of year.

If it is of any further consolation then here is my brief backgroud:
I am a Hindu by birth.
Did my schooling from a catholic school and know Bible's stories by heart and also had led choirs.
Did my B.S. Mechanical engineering from a prominent miniority university, Aligarh Muslim University.
So you see, I would be the last person to use this story to stereotype folks from any particular religon.
I will conclude by saying that polygamy in India is almost non existent. The story cited here is unique, irrespective of what religion the person belongs to, even though the laws may be permitting in certain cases.

instead of attacking some one who applied for LS, i suggest it is advisable to direct the anger towards DOL or USCIS.. whoever is responsible.
LC substitution is legal and probably that's why many ppl did it. why shud we blame them. we shud blame the law. and good that its been eliminated now..
i don't think we need to segregate those who applied using LS. May be most of us could have used it if we had not applied labour directly and knew that some LS is available for no price with old PD...

I don't have any update on AP .
Should I still select the below mentioned option ?
'Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing' is what I should select for AP inquiry?

Do you realize that this duplicate App is going to increase the turnaround from 90 to 120 days ?
Please put some thought man - USCIS clearly said that FEDEX/USPS signed receipt is acceptable proof for EAD/AP filing in one of the FAQ's so if its get rejected out of USCIS error you can refile later.

It is not true that Many people have to wait 10+ years to get gc. May be some people might wait for 10 years because of frequent change of jobs , layoffs and also ignorance of green card processing. Most of the time EB2 waiting time is 2 to 3 years. Indian EB3 is in worst situation but only for past 2 years and before that everything was current. For that also most waiting persons filed I 485 because of July VB issue. In my opinion EB3 PD will be backdated up to 5 years.
Also there is no legistrative activity in Congress about any immigration issue. Always skil bill comes in limelight when congress is in Session. But everyone knows that skil bill is asking too much in H1b and immigration numbers because of exemptions and it will be very difficult task. But no one in pro immigrant community is ready to compromise on numbers. When Congress tries to curb the abuse of H1b even pro immigrants are opposing the bills without any suggestion of any alternatives. If some bill comes for only GC that too moderate increase in numbers that will have bright chance of passing in congress.
You should not expect any rally will produce meaningful reform. It has to be proved that additional immigrant and H1b numbers will produce more jobs and it should not create unemployment in americans.Just sufferings of gc waiters is not enough. My opinion is Rally will be used to show strength of IV and may educate public and Congress. But anti immigrants also doing Similar Campaign(not big rallies) by negative points of immigration. The same congress till the end of 2008 and I doubt they will consider any immigration issue till new congress comes in 2009 that is not too far from now. But it is always good to try all the time.
